Title: Manager – Alternative Assets

Location(s): Halifax, NS, Canada (Hybrid)

About the job:

Our Managers will help lead engagements for new and existing clients in the Alternative Assets space. We will assist our clients in executing and maintaining all aspects of financial management, including month and year-end financial reporting, budget preparation, forecasting of revenues and expenses, and back-office cash management.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work hand in hand with the clients’ service providers including but not limited to: external auditors, administrators, HR/payroll, and compliance
  • Cash management and forecasting of your clients including expense tracking 
  • Oversight of NAV calculation and monitoring of valuation
  • Middle and back office operational support
  • Ability to work on multiple engagements at once
  • Arrange, coordinate, and participate in routinely scheduled conference calls with clients
  • Modeling of waterfall calculations, and review and calculation of management fees and incentive allocation  
  • Assist in opening accounts necessary for fund to operate
  • Review of contracts and fund documents
  • Financial statement review
  • Assist your clients with vetting and selecting other vendors

 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Accounting Field. Investment Accounting preferred.  
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and intrapersonal skills
  • Strong accounting, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Strong technology skills including Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit
  • Understanding of investment management and alternative products
  • Willingness to travel, as needed
